The EMG 40JX X Series isn't just a jazz pickup in Soapbar format. This model gives 5-string basses extra definition, a more open soundstage and a much more natural response under the fingers. Thanks to the X Series preamp, you get more headroom, which means more dynamics and a more natural sound, even with an active pick-up.
