The EMG 40JX X Series isn't just a jazz pickup in Soapbar format. This model gives 5-string basses extra definition, a more open soundstage and a much more natural response under the fingers. Thanks to the X Series preamp, you get more headroom, which means more dynamics and a more natural sound, even with an active pick-up.
This model stands out for its ability to capture every nuance of your playing, whether you're slapping, finger-picking or expressively tapping. The sound is always clear and well-defined, with deep bass and a bright but never overpowering upper end. The radiated ceramic magnet contributes to this balance, maintaining a good mid-range punch and an even response on each string.
