The EMG-40TW-BLK is a real asset for 5-string bassists who like to vary their sound without complicating their lives. Thanks to its unique design, it combines two independent voices in a single pickup: a JCS single coil for a clear, warm, detailed sound, and a CS humbucker for a bigger, more aggressive tone with a strong midrange. The little extra? A push/pull system on the pot lets you switch easily from one to the other, depending on your mood or the style of track.
This 4-inch (102 mm) soapbar mic is ideal for those who play slap funk, energetic rock or even metal, because it adapts to all these worlds thanks to its sonic versatility. The EMG active preamp ensures clean, powerful, noise-free sound, perfect for both stage and studio. What's more, the EMG-40TW-BLK uses EMG's Solderless system, which allows for solderless installation.
However, if you're installing two TW microphones, you'll need a suitable switching system, as each mic requires its own push/pull switch.
