Presentation
The EMG-40TWX-BLK is a 4-inch active pickup designed for 5-string basses. It incorporates two separate circuits: a JCSX single coil for warm, defined sounds, and a CSX double coil for a more solid, midrange-rich sound. Changeover is via a push/pull switch, ideal for quickly switching from slap playing to a denser riff or palm mute line.
Its X Series preamp makes a real difference compared with conventional EMG models: more dynamics, more headroom, and better responsiveness to touch. Every attack comes through clearly, even in busy mixes or low registers. This pickup is ideal for styles where the bass needs to occupy space without drooling - muscular funk, heavy rock, metal or fusion.
The solderless connection system simplifies installation. And thanks to its soapbar 40 format, it fits perfectly on modern 5-string basses.
