Designed for 6-string basses with an extended slot, the EMG 45PAX modernises the classic sound of a Precision pickup while respecting the dynamics of the playing. This pickup is based on a P configuration with Alnico magnets, but its special feature lies in its orientation: the treble coil is closer to the neck, like a Spector or Yamaha bass. The result is ample bass, rich midrange and brilliant highs without aggression.
The integrated X Series preamp gives a great playing feel, with a tactile response close to that of a passive pickup, but with the clarity, silence and consistency of an active pickup. This is a real plus for expressive styles: finger picking, syncopated grooves, articulate slap or subtle melodic passages.
Ideal for use in the studio or on stage, the 45PAX is also easy to install thanks to EMG's solderless system. No need for a soldering iron: just plug in and play. A reliable, musical solution for those who want an expressive, modern microphone without sacrificing the warmth of a well-designed P sound.
