EMG - 45PCSX Black

The EMG 45PCSX is an active soapbar pickup designed for 6-string basses in the extended 4.5-inch (115 mm) format. It is based on the structure of a P-type pickup, but in a modernised version designed for instruments with a wide range, such as certain Spector or Yamaha instruments.

This model incorporates ceramic magnets combined with steel studs, a combination that promotes accurate high-frequency response, good midrange warmth and well-defined low frequencies. The internal architecture is based on short, wide coils, reinforcing the natural presence of the microphone while guaranteeing deep punch and minimal background noise. Whether you're playing slamming funk, precise jazz fusion or high-speed technical metal, this mic will keep up without flinching.

The X Series version features a revised preamp, which improves dynamics and touch sensitivity. As a result, you retain the definition of an active mic while getting closer to the feel of passive mics. The result is both expressive and well-contained, even in the lowest registers.

As always with EMG, installation is simplified by the solderless cabling system. A practical solution for mounting or replacing your pick-up directly at home, without the need for specialist tools.
