EMG - 45TWX Splittable Black

The EMG 45TWX X Series is an active microphone in Soapbar format that combines two sounds in a single package. Behind its black cover, it actually houses two separate circuits: a single JCSX coil for a clear, rich, nuanced sound, and a double CSX coil for a more massive, biting, percussive sound. Switching from one to the other is a breeze thanks to the included push/pull potentiometer, with no need to change instrument or configuration.

This pickup has been designed for 6-string guitarists or bassists who like to keep control of their sound. In single coil mode, the resonance frequency rises to 5.4 kHz, giving a well-articulated sound ideal for funk rhythms, open chord playing or more subdued passages. In humbucker mode, the sound drops to 2.5 kHz, with a nice midrange presence and a clean attack, perfect for rock solos or strong lines.

The integrated X Series preamp provides extra headroom and touch sensitivity, making playing dynamic and responsive, whatever mode you choose. The pick-up remains silent in all circumstances, with background noise reduced to a minimum even in single-coil mode.

Finally, the Solderless EMG system makes installation easy, and the estimated 1,500-hour battery life ensures long, worry-free sessions. Note that each microphone requires a dedicated push/pull, so if you're planning a duo setup, it's best to have an alternative to the traditional balance pot.
