To boost the audio of a 7-string guitar, the EMG 57-7H black pickup is installed in the bridge. It combines Alnico V and steel for a muscular sound. Its voicing is inspired by PAF, but more direct. The solderless EMG system makes for easy installation, with components included for active mounting.

The EMG 57-7H Black pickup gives a new voice to 7-string guitars. It replaces passive humbuckers with a clear, punchy active solution. Its standard format means it can be fitted to the bridge without adaptation.
The heart of the pickup combines an Alnico V magnet and steel parts. This choice gives the pickup a grainy sound while retaining its detail. The voicing is inspired by vintage PAF, but with more presence and a well-focused signal.
The assembly is based on the Solderless EMG system. The pack includes everything: battery cable, stereo jack, connectors, screws, volume and 25K tone. Noise remains below -100 dBV, even with a high output.
This model consumes very little power (160 µA on average) and runs for over 1,500 hours on a single battery. It accepts a voltage of up to 27V for extended active setups. The black cover remains stylish. It's a modern option for those who want a sharp, controlled attack.
