The EMG 57-8 is an active pickup designed for the bridge position of 8-string guitars. Its enlarged, soap-box-shaped cover is perfectly suited to this type of instrument.
This pickup uses Alnico V magnets and steel pads, a combination that produces a sound with a warm, rich vintage tone, while retaining excellent precision thanks to the active electronics. This clarity is particularly useful for guitarists playing technical styles such as progressive metal, djent or modern rock.
The EMG 57-8 avoids the sonic mush caused by the low frequencies of an 8-string and ensures that each note remains distinct.
