This active humbucker for eight EMG 57-8H Black strings with Alnico 5 magnets combines high voltage and low power consumption. Less than 160 µA on battery, up to 27V accepted. It remains stable, even in a loaded rack. The standard EMG impedance of 10 kΩ integrates with all existing active circuits. All without a trace of hiss.

Presentation
The EMG 57-8H Black pickup is not for the faint-hearted. This pickup for 8-string guitars was designed to take the strain. In the bridge position, it transforms each string into a dense mass of sound. Output voltage climbs to 4.5V on loud tuning and nothing spills over.
The magnetic core is based on a classic Alnico V, but reinforced with steel parts. This mix adds weight without sacrificing precision. The impedance remains standard for the EMG universe (10 kΩ), and can be integrated into any of the brand's active circuits.
Its wide format covers the low strings well. Installation is simple, thanks to the solderless system. All the cabling is supplied, along with the stereo jack, screws and four matching potentiometers.
It runs on a 9V battery with a battery life of over 1,500 hours. It accepts high-voltage set-ups (up to 27V). With this model, each chord takes on a raw thickness, without saturating the mix or tiring the ear.
