EMG's 57-8H Chrome pickup with its Alnico V magnets stays in line, even when the rest of the pickup fails. Its active design reduces breath noise, even in saturated stacks. Battery life exceeds 1,500 hours. It takes a beating without flinching, with a clean, controlled output. This model is designed for guitars with eight taut strings.

The EMG 57-8H Chrome pickup has been designed to meet the demands of eight-string players. Its specific length (97.8 mm) adapts well to enlarged cavities. The MetalWorks design, here in chrome finish, completely covers the coils for visual and sound protection.
The microphone delivers a constant voltage without compressing the signal. It can operate at up to 27V, which gives it plenty of dynamic range. Even at high volume, it remains stable and clean. The centre frequency of 2.11 kHz favours clean attacks.
Solderless cabling reduces assembly errors. No earth wire required. The set includes two volume and two tone potentiometers, all in 25K. Stereo jack and cables included.
With a power consumption of just 160 µA, it runs for 1500 hours on a single 9V battery. Its compatibility with all EMG accessories makes it a solid base for a complete active setup.
