EMG - 60-8 Humbucker Pickup Black

The EMG 60-8 is a dual-coil active pickup for 8-string electric guitars. It uses ceramic magnets combined with tight windings, similar to the mini-humbucker format, to produce a defined sound with good treble response. This type of configuration promotes clarity of notes, particularly when playing lead or complex chords.

Often installed in the neck position, the 60-8 is equally suited to clean tones and more saturated rhythms. It reproduces the nuances of playing without excessive brightness or loss of bass. It maintains good sound quality even with guitars tuned low, for well-defined low notes.

On a technical level, this pickup resonates at around 1.95 kHz, a frequency that contributes to its clarity in the treble. It has an output voltage of up to 4.5 V, providing a signal powerful enough to saturate an amplifier while remaining accurate. With a signal-to-noise ratio of -106 dB, it minimises unwanted noise, ensuring clean sound even at high volumes. The microphone is powered by a 9V battery (not included), which can run for up to 3,000 hours, for long, worry-free use.

The kit includes everything you need for installation, including EMG solderless cabling, two 25 kΩ potentiometers, a stereo jack and connection cables. Made in the USA, the mic is easy to integrate into an existing setup and can be combined with other models in the EMG range.
