Designed for guitarists who like to tune lower and play on 8 strings, the EMG 66-8 is a dual-coil active neck pickup with extended bass and round mids. Thanks to its Alnico V magnets, it enhances the presence of heavy riffs and ensures a powerful sound base, while the ceramic pads provide clarity in the treble, even when playing in very low tunings.
Ideal for modern metal, djent or hardcore, it maintains a clean, articulate sound through fast rhythms as well as calmer passages. The high output voltage (4.50 V strumming) provides enough headroom to avoid muddy saturation and keep attacks clean.
The EMG Solderless system makes solderless assembly quick and easy. This pickup comes with all the necessary components (potentiometers, wiring, screws), and is compatible with other EMG pickups as well as SPC and EXG modules for fine-tuning your sound. Its compact soapbar design makes it easy to install on your guitar.
