The EMG 707TWX, designed for the bridge and neck of a 7-string guitar, meets the needs of metal and technical guitarists.
In the bridge position, it delivers a powerful active humbucker, perfect for drop-tuning rhythms and tight palm mute riffs, with a clarity that avoids a muddy effect on the B string. In the neck position, it produces a more open register, ideal for solos, arpeggios and expressive playing.
The splittable function allows the single coil to be isolated via a push/pull action, giving access to a clearer, more detailed sound without changing the pickup. This system adapts well to a wide range of playing styles, from brutal riffs to melodic passages and fast techniques such as tapping and sweep picking.
This pickup includes an active VLPF tone pot, which acts like a variable low-pass filter. This function allows precise control of high frequencies, to adjust brightness and reduce overly aggressive highs depending on the style or amp used.
The solderless kit means that the microphone can be changed in a matter of minutes, without the need for tools or special skills, even during rehearsals or on stage.
