The EMG 707TWX-R lets you switch between two types of sound without changing pickups. On the one hand, a wide humbucker powered by Alnico V magnets, ideal for taking on tight, heavy 7-string rhythms, while keeping the low B note legible. On the other, a single coil positioned closer to the neck, reminiscent of the softer, airier tone of a Strat, perfect for clear passages, arpeggios and more nuanced solos.
Thanks to the X Series preamp, the pickup offers extended dynamics and more headroom, without sacrificing string balance. The active VLPF tone control softens the highs in the same way as a passive guitar, but without any extraneous noise.
The practical push/pull function lets you switch instantly from a saturated, cutting register to a more crystal-clear sound. Compatible with both neck and bridge positions, the 707TWX-R covers a wide musical spectrum, from metal to clean passages.
What's more, the solderless system makes installation accessible, even if you don't know your way around electronics!
