The EMG 81-7 Humbucker is a dual-coil active pickup designed for 7-string electric guitars. It's designed for musicians who play powerful styles like metal, hardcore or prog, and who want a clear, precise sound, even at high volume and with lots of gain.
This pickup uses ceramic and steel magnets, which enable it to produce sharp highs, tight lows and smooth sustain. Even when played loud or distorted, every note comes through clearly. It's usually placed in the bridge position, where it's at its best, but can also be used in the neck position for a fuller sound.
One of its advantages is its ease of installation: thanks to EMG's 'solderless' system, everything plugs in without soldering. The kit includes all the cables and components needed for quick installation, even if you're not used to tinkering with your guitar.
It's also compatible with other EMG pickups and accessories such as the VLPF, EXG or SPC tone modules, so you can tailor your sound to suit your preferences.
