Designed to push your 7-string guitar, the EMG 81-7H offers a clean attack and natural sustain. Ideal for technical metal and drop tuning, it can be used in either neck or bridge position, alone or in combination with other EMG pickups. Offered here in a black chrome finish, it is also available in other colours.

Presentation
The EMG 81-7H is designed for 7-string guitarists who want a precise, aggressive and clear sound, even when overdriven. Thanks to its ceramic and steel magnets, it produces a clean attack and present highs, perfect for bringing out technical solos and riffs.
Mounted in the bridge position, it cuts through the heaviest of mixes and brings out every nuance of the playing, with back and forth or palm mute. In the neck position, it softens the grain slightly for more singing leads.
This pickup is particularly suited to modern metal, djent and prog, where definition and responsiveness are essential, even with drop tuning. It can easily be combined with an EMG 85-7H for extra warmth or a 60-7H for detailed cleans.
EMG's Solderless system means installation is quick and solderless, thanks to the complete kit supplied (potentiometers, wiring and screws). This pickup is also compatible with EMG modules and accessories such as the VLPF, EXG, SPC and RPC, so you can customise your sound even further.
