The 81-7H is one of EMG's active dual-coil humbuckers, delivering tight grain and defined highs on 7-string guitars. Its powerful magnets make it ideal for heavy rhythm work and fast leads. Compatible with EMG 85-7H and 60-7H combos for a variety of tonal colours. This chrome model is also available in other coloured versions.

Placed in the bridge position, it brings out the best in fast riffs, tapping and more incisive leads. On the neck, it softens the response slightly for more singing solos.
Ideal for genres where clarity and attack make the difference: progressive metal, technical death or djent. It remains stable even when tuned low, without losing definition.
Its 10 kΩ impedance and 4.5 V output voltage guarantee a high level of output with minimal noise. Designed in the USA, the EMG 81-7H is designed for guitarists looking for a precise grain and quick installation, while maintaining broad compatibility with other EMG pickups.
For a complete set, it can be combined with an EMG 85-7H for a rounder sound or a 60-7H for a more articulate clean.
