Designed for modern 7-string guitars, the EMG 81-7X delivers powerful drop rhythms and defined leads, thanks to its ceramic magnets and X Series preamp.
Placed in bridge position, it reveals all its power on jerky riffs, extended chords and drop-tuned passages, where every note must remain legible. On the neck, it retains its natural sustain and smooth highs, perfect for singing solos and tapping.
The X Series preamp makes the difference by providing more dynamics and less compression, resulting in a more responsive and lively playing experience, especially on picking nuances.
The active VLPF helps to shape the tone according to the song, making the mic just as at home in extreme metal as in prog or technical rock.
Compatible with the entire EMG series, it can be combined with the 85-7X for extra warmth or the 60-7X for a clearer neck sound. Its soapbar format and solderless circuit make assembly quick and easy, even without experience.
