EMG offers you this 81-8 active humbucker pickup, specially designed for 8-string guitars. Thanks to its powerful ceramic magnets and double winding, it delivers a precise, clear and powerful sound, suitable for musicians playing modern styles such as metal, djent or prog. Its design allows it to handle the extended low frequencies of 8-string guitars with ease, while retaining great definition in the treble.
This pickup is fitted with a soapbar-style housing, making it easy to install on most 8-string guitars. EMG's solderless wiring system simplifies installation for quick, clean set-up without the need for electronics skills. Power is supplied by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life of around 3,000 hours, guaranteeing long-lasting use on stage and in the studio.
The EMG 81-8 produces a powerful signal with a low level of noise, even when the volume or distortion is turned up to maximum, ensuring that every note remains distinct and clear, to prevent the sound from becoming muddled. Its clean attack and smooth sustain make it ideal for heavy beats and fast solos.
