Specially designed for the bridge position of 8-string guitars, the EMG 81-8X adds clarity and punch to tight rhythms and fast solos.
Ideal for extreme metal, hardcore or even shredding, it keeps the lower strings legible when playing palm-mute riffs or sweeping passages. Its X Series preamp adds extra dynamics and maintains a natural balance, making it easy to switch from a heavy passage to a lilting solo without changing mics.
Guitarists who like to alternate between ultra-saturated passages and quieter shots will also appreciate the VLPF control for adjusting the treble to suit the context.
