Presentation
The EMG 81TWX revisits the famous 81 by adding a single coil in the same body. Installed in the bridge position, it offers two clearly separate push/pull modes: an active humbucker with a high output level for punchy riffs, and a clearer single coil for quieter moments.
The X Series preamp adds more dynamics and openness, without losing the silence and clarity typical of EMGs. Designed for metal and hard rock, it also lets you play clear arpeggios and softer passages without changing pickups.
Its slightly thicker design than a conventional humbucker doesn't hinder installation on most of today's guitars. What sets the EMG 81TWX apart is its ability to cover heavy rhythms and more expressive solos, all on the same guitar.
Thanks to the solderless system, it's quick to assemble and doesn't require any advanced electronics experience.
