Presentation
The EMG 81TWX is designed for the bridge position and offers two very distinct sound worlds. In humbucker mode, it delivers a clean attack, ideal for modern metal and powerful riffs.
In push/pull mode, it delivers a simple, softer coil, perfect for clean passages or lighter arpeggios. The integrated X Series preamp ensures a more open dynamic range and greater responsiveness under the fingers, while maintaining excellent output levels and the famous noise-free EMG pickups.
With its solderless installation, the 81TWX is easy to set up, even without any great knowledge of electronics. Its slightly thicker-than-standard format remains unobtrusive and ensures compatibility with most modern guitars. For metal, hard rock or heavy guitarists, this pickup is a major asset: it lets you switch from a saturated, cutting sound to a clearer texture, without changing instruments.
