In the bridge position, it delivers a razor-sharp attack, ideal for heavy rhythms, tight palm mutes or fast licks that need to stand out in the mix. Placed on the neck, it retains definition
while giving more roundness and sustain, useful for lead lines or singing harmonics.
The secret: the X Series preamp, which adds headroom and a more open response, and ceramic/steel magnets to retain the typical EMG bite. The built-in VLPF acts like an active filter to control brightness, and sculpt a softer sound if required.
Designed for both live and studio use, this mic is also easy to install, using a Solderless connection circuit. It's also compatible with EMG accessories like the EXG, SPC and RPC for even more customised sound.
This model is available here in white, but is also available in a range of other finishes, including red, chrome and black, to suit all guitar styles.
