The EMG 85-7XH pickup is designed to get the most out of your 7-string guitar. Inspired by the famous 85 model, this dual-coil active humbucker uses Alnico V magnets to deliver both punch and clarity. It's particularly suited to guitarists who play powerful riffs, fast shreds or well-defined metal rhythms. It delivers a powerful sound with well-defined bass, suitable for extreme metal, djent or modern hard rock.
With its X Series preamp, the 85-7XH produces better dynamics and a more natural sound, balancing passive and active pickups without losing power.
Placed in the bridge position, it guarantees a clean attack and good definition, ideal for precise palm mutes and solos that stand out in the mix.
In the neck position, it maintains good articulation while producing softer, more melodic leads, perfect for calmer tracks or expressive passages.
It's easy to install thanks to EMG's solderless system, and its battery life, approaching 3,000 hours, means long, worry-free sessions.
