The EMG 85-8 Active Humbucker Pickup 8-String Black is a dual-coil, soapbar-format active pickup designed for 8-string electric guitars. Thanks to its narrow aperture coils and Alnico V magnets, it captures every nuance of playing, with natural warmth and excellent bass response.
When you play melodies or solos, the notes resonate for a long time without distorting, and each note remains perfectly distinct, even in fast bends or technical legatos. In rhythm, when you're playing riffs or chords, this pickup maintains a precise response: the bass remains defined and the treble doesn't disappear under the distortion.
This pickup was originally designed for the neck position (warmer, rounder sound), but its balance means it can also shine in the bridge position: it remains precise without becoming too aggressive. A rare asset! When you strum a chord vigorously, the pickup sends out an ultra-powerful signal, so the sound explodes in the mix. This pick-up almost completely eliminates unwanted noise (hum, buzz...). You just keep the sound of your guitar, clean and without interference.
The solderless EMG system simplifies installation and its compatibility with accessories (EXG, SPC, RPC) makes it easy to customise your tone.
