The EMG 85-7 is a dual-coil active pickup for 7-string guitars, designed to produce a warm, powerful and well-defined sound. Thanks to its Alnico magnets, it adds depth in the low frequencies and grain in the mid-range, and remains accurate even under high saturation. In neck or bridge position, it maintains good definition, whether for solos or heavy riffs.
The Soapbar format fits easily into most 7-string guitars, and installation is quick thanks to the solderless system supplied. There's no need for special tools: everything from pots to cables is included in the kit.
With a high output voltage and very low noise level, this pickup avoids noise, even when the volume is turned up.
It is compatible with other EMG microphones, as well as with modules such as the SPC, EXG or RPC to extend the possibilities of adjustment.
