EMG offers you the 85-8 Active Humbucker Pickup, an active pickup designed for 8-string guitars. It's based on the classic EMG 85, but adapted to suit the lower tuning and wider frequencies of these instruments. With its Alnico V magnets, it produces a warm, clear and well-balanced sound.
Whether you're playing heavy chords or lilting solos, it's always accurate. The bass doesn't drool, the treble doesn't scream. You can mount it on the neck for a rounded sound, or on the bridge if you want more attack. In both cases, the signal remains clean, even with heavy saturation.
This pickup also has the advantage of being silent. No hiss, no extraneous noise, even when you turn up the gain. It sends a strong signal (up to 4.5 V), so you can saturate a tube amp without losing definition.
It's easy to install thanks to the EMG solderless system. No need for a soldering iron, just plug in and play. It's also compatible with EMG modules such as the SPC, EXG or RPC to adjust the sound character of your guitar.
