The EMG 89R White with its Alnico V magnets is a pickup that lets you choose between two very different characters. Its humbucker delivers a dense, deep signal that's always well articulated. Simply pulling the push/pull switch opens up a whole new palette.
Its single-coil mode is brilliantly clear. The highs are straightforward, the bass remains defined. Ideal for arpeggios, dry riffs or funky chords.
The inverted design places the single coil towards the neck. It's a real game-changer, especially for clean rhythms or jazzy solos. The whole thing works without a ground cable, with a solderless system.

With the EMG 89R White active microphone and its Alnico V magnets, you often adjust the equalisation in direct recording to lighten the midrange. In an amp mic, the natural warmth of the bulb replaces this adjustment.
The high output of the 89R requires a more subtle adjustment of compression. You may prefer to exploit its gain to retain punch and dynamics.
