The EMG 909X pickup has been designed for 9-string guitarists who want to keep their sound clear and powerful, even on the lowest strings.
With a 9-string guitar, it's not always easy to get well-defined lows while maintaining clear highs. The 909X achieves this thanks to its wide-aperture coils and Alnico V magnets, which add body to the low strings and perfect definition to the highs.
The integrated X Series preamp plays a key role, widening the dynamic range and increasing headroom, for a sound that's both powerful and detailed. Thanks to Active Tone Control (VLPF), you can adjust the high frequencies to achieve, for example: a warmer sound with muted highs, ideal for thicker rhythms and a smoother delivery; or a brighter, clearer sound, perfect for bringing out the detail in solos or arpeggios.
The 909X can be used in either bridge or neck position. It accurately captures powerful riffs, open chords and complex melodic lines.
And thanks to the solderless system, installation is easy and seamless. All you need to do is transform the sound of your 9-string guitar!
