The black EMG FAT 55 pickup set pays tribute to the humbuckers of the 50s. Two passive pickups fitted with a discreet preamp, housed outside the coils. The 9V power supply stabilises the output and reduces noise to zero. There's no hiss, even when playing intensely or at high gain.
The Alnico magnets plunge into a warm spectrum, tailor-made for blues or muscular overdrive. Bass frequencies remain solid, without any drag. Highs cut through the mix without aggression. No midrange peaks: the voicing remains flat to let the signal breathe.
