With its ceramic magnets and over-wound coils, the Black Chrome version of the EMG H3 delivers a warmer signal than a conventional PAF with good sound articulation. It lends itself equally well to grunge, vintage rock and new wave with effects. The slightly hollowed-out midrange leaves plenty of space in the mix, useful for group rhythms. In clean sound, the neck position evokes a simple coil, ideal for arpeggios or funk. Quick installation via the solderless EMG system.

Presentation
The EMG H3 rethinks the passive humbucker with a clear balance between power and definition. Thanks to its over-wound coils and ceramic magnet, it delivers a warmer signal than conventional PAFs, without compromising frequency balance. The result is a dense, well-articulated sound, with clean highs, slightly recessed midrange and well-controlled bass.
As a bridge, it's a weapon. The bass is tight, perfect for palm-mutes and metal riffs, and the treble remains defined - no shrill cry, just an attack that pierces the mix. In the neck position, it reveals another facet: clean tones with almost single-coil clarity, ideal for blues or jazz arpeggios.
Unlike many passive humbuckers, the H3 doesn't drown in distortion. Even when pushed, it retains its precision, power chords remain articulate and solos don't get muddy.
With its connector connection system, no soldering is required for installation, which saves a lot of time for guitarists who want to assemble their own pickups.
