Guitar Microphone
A variant of the H3, the H3A replaces the ceramic magnets with Alnico V to soften the attack and flesh out the midrange. The result is a rounder, more articulate sound, with no loss of sharpness in detail. At times, its grain is reminiscent of a P90, particularly in the neck position. Easy to fit and compatible with other EMG-HZ pickups.

Presentation
The EMG H3A is a passive humbucker designed for those seeking a defined sound without excessive treble. Unlike the ceramic H3, it uses Alnico V magnets, which reduce overly bright frequencies and soften the overall response. The sound remains balanced, with good legibility even at high volumes.
The sense of play is slightly compressed, so dynamics can be controlled without compromising responsiveness. The overdrive accentuates the midrange, enhancing the density of the signal without masking the treble. In the neck position, the pickup is reminiscent of a P90: full and punchy, ideal for tight rhythms or thick phrases. In the bridge position, it delivers a clean but restrained treble that doesn't overwhelm the mix.
The H3A can be integrated into any passive 500K circuit without an external power supply. It is wired without soldering thanks to the EMG system, which simplifies installation, even on a guitar that is already equipped. The internal shielding, reinforced by the steel base plate, means it can be used in saturation without parasitic noise.
