The EMG JX Set Black pickups have been designed for bassists who want to keep their feet in the groove and their head in the precision. This active set, comprising an SJ neck pickup and an LJ bridge, is ideal for 4-string jazz basses. Inside, everything happens in silence - or almost - thanks to a -105dB signal-to-noise ratio. Even live, there's no interference to spoil the fun.
Equipped with radial ceramic magnets, the microphones capture a wide spectrum with good definition. Whether you're playing slap or finger-style, the sound is always full and well-balanced, with no artificial compression. The 4.05kHz frequency response ensures that the mix is bright and clear, without ever being ear-splitting.
The secret is the integrated X-Series preamp. It pushes the headroom even further if you switch to 18V, ideal for those who like to push their dynamic limits. And the active VLPF tone (simulating a passive pot) adds a nice degree of flexibility to shape your sound on the fly.
The solderless system makes assembly easy: no need for a soldering iron or ground cable for the strings. This is a kit designed for playing fast, cleanly and loudly.
