The EMG MMTW is an active pickup designed for Music Man-type 4-string basses, with a real asset: it packs two sounds into a single pickup, which can be alternated by push/pull.
In humbucker mode, it delivers a wide, powerful sound, with deep bass and a firm attack. Perfect for heavy riffs, modern rock or palm mute passages. In single-coil mode, it adopts the character of an active EMG J pickup: more definition, pronounced midrange and a more direct response. Ideal for slap, funky fingerpicking or lines that need to remain precise in the mix.
What sets it apart is its ability to navigate easily between the two voicings, with high output, a consistently clean signal, and no extraneous noise thanks to the EMG preamp. There's no need to add a second mic or open your bass between tracks.
Assembly is simple with the solderless system, and everything is supplied in the kit. The MMTW is aimed at bassists who want a single pick-up capable of covering several registers, while retaining a powerful, clear sound.
