The EMG P5J Black pickup set is for bassists looking for a clear, muscular attack without sacrificing warmth. It combines two complementary acoustic signatures: a deep, generous P5 pickup on the neck and a precise, responsive LJ on the bridge.
For 5-string basses, this duo covers a wide musical spectrum. From Motown groove to syncopated funk, from modern rock to energetic slap, every nuance comes through effortlessly, even in a dense mix. The active pickups feature ceramic magnets to maximise punch while keeping background noise low. With an output voltage of up to 4.5 V, dynamics remain constant, even in the most percussive passages.
Thanks to EMG's solderless cabling, installation is hassle-free. All the necessary components are included: potentiometers, connectors, screws, cables and stereo jack. The system remains powered by a 9V battery with an impressive battery life of 3,000 hours. These devices are an ideal replacement for any original set. They give bassists total control over the grain, character and responsiveness of their instrument, both live and in the studio.
