EMG - RTX Black

The EMG RTX is for anyone who loves the Telecaster™ character, but wants a pickup that's more stable, more defined, with no hiss and none of the aggressive highs. Positioned in the bridge, this active single-coil pickup takes on the brilliance and twang of the original model, with more roundness in the bass and better sustain across the spectrum. The alnico magnet and custom winding give a warm, articulate sound, perfect for playing clean chords as well as the dry riffs typical of rock, blues and country.

The heart of the pickup is the X Series preamp: it increases the dynamic range, offers more headroom, and gives you a playing sensation similar to that of a passive pickup, but without the background noise. And thanks to the active tone control (VLPF), you can attenuate high frequencies in a very musical way, just like with a well-tuned passive pot.

It's an ideal pickup if you're looking to modernise a Telecaster™ while retaining its original spirit. The RTX brings that little extra: beautiful definition and string-to-string balance rarely achieved with conventional single coils.
