The EMG SAV Black is a pickup that plays the vintage card with modern weapons. Beneath its discreet appearance, this single-coil pickup embeds flat-pad Alnico V magnets. It evokes the first Strat™, while eliminating the parasites of the past.
Its output voltage reaches 3 volts under the fingers, with almost non-existent background noise (-101 dB). In both clean and overdrive, it remains smooth, never muddy. The typical 'quack' sound emerges without aggression. A brilliant texture, but never icy. Output impedance is 10 kΩ. Coupled with a stable power supply of up to 27 volts, the SAV boasts an endurance of 3,000 hours on a 9V battery. You can combine it with other models in the EMG S, SA, SV, SLV range - or give it a VLPF for extra bite.
It's easy to assemble: there's no ground wire, no soldering iron, just the EMG plug-and-play system. All the cables are there, ready to use. This model combines ancient grain with modern logic. A clear voice that cuts through the mix without raising the pitch. The SAV Black works perfectly in intermediate positions. EMG's SAV Black pickup reveals a round midrange when fingerpicked, with more bite in the midrange. Each attack reacts differently depending on the touch.
