The EMG SJCSX Neck Black modernises the short-J format without sacrificing personality. For the neck position, it combines a ceramic/steel magnet with an X-Series preamp for solid dynamics and a racy grain that's very present even when played softly. It stays straight, even under hard attack.
X-Series active technology pushes the limits: the pickup delivers up to 6.5 V at peak, with a noise floor measured at -101 dBV at 60 Hz. The result: you can groove at low volume or saturate the tubes without any parasitic hiss. The VLPF filter adds a subtle nuance reminiscent of passive circuits, while retaining the stability of an active.
Designed for 4 or 5 string configurations, it accepts string widths up to 69.2 mm. Its short SJ format makes it easy to fit into a wide range of J-Bass systems, with no need for any DIY. Installation is via the solderless EMG system - a real plus for those who like to try out different combinations.
Delivered complete with cables, potentiometers, connectors and screws, the SJCSX can be quickly integrated into your bass. With 3,000 hours of 9V battery life and 27V DC compatibility, there's no limit to what you can explore on stage or in the studio.
