Presentation
The EMG TBTW pickup is designed for Thunderbird body electric basses and features a dual sound configuration. Inside, there are two distinct circuits: the JCS for single-coil mode, and the CS for humbucker mode, both based on ceramic and steel magnets.
A push-pull potentiometer makes it easy to switch between these two worlds. The simple mode, based on the JCS, produces a clear, warm and precise sound, ideal for melodic lines in styles such as jazz, soul or pop. In humbucker mode, it's the CS that takes over, with a denser sound, a cleaner attack and a strong midrange, perfect for energetic rock or funk grooves.
This active pickup delivers good dynamics and excellent noise control, even at high volumes. It's adaptable to a range of playing techniques, from fingerstyle to slap, and its solderless connection system makes it easy to install on Thunderbird basses.
