Epiphone - Sheraton Vintage Sunburst
Epiphone Sheraton Vintage Sunburst The Epiphone Sheraton Vintage Sunburst features a gloss finish on a laminated maple semi-hollow body, reinforced with a maple centre block to combine resonance and control. Its two ProBucker Mini-Humbuckers add warmth to the bass without muddying the treble, whilst the 7-ply binding and the 1962 Historic pickguard define its look.
Presentation
Beneath the varnish, laminated maple forms the semi-hollow body, extended by a back and sides of the same wood and a central maple block that encloses the soundbox at its heart. A 7-strip binding encircles the top, whilst a 3-strip binding edges the back – two trims that define the Sheraton silhouette with its clean lines.
The mahogany neck, shaped to a SlimTaper 60s C profile, houses an adjustable truss rod and features a 12-inch (304.80 mm) radius that maintains a rounded feel from the first to the last fret. Twenty-two medium-jumbo frets run along an Indian laurel fingerboard edged with a 3-ply binding, punctuated by mother-of-pearl block and triangle inlays, leading to a 43 mm GraphTech nut that holds each string in precise place.
The Kalamazoo-style headstock, edged with a three-strip binding and engraved with an Epiphone Tree of Life inlay, features gold-plated Wilkinson tuners that stabilise the tuning from the first note.
The HH pickup configuration features two Epiphone ProBucker mini-humbuckers, at the neck and bridge, housed under gold covers framed by a black border. A 3-position switch and two volume controls, two tone controls—featuring gold Top Hat knobs with gold inserts and a cream-coloured selector switch—allow you to adjust the tone from clean to distorted before the signal reaches a 6.35 mm jack. The Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and the Frequensator trapezoid tailpiece, both featuring gold-plated hardware, keep the .010 to .046 strings under constant tension.
The 1962 Sheraton Historic pickguard, in tortoiseshell-style finish, features an aluminium ‘E’ logo and a 5-strip binding, whilst a 2-strip Bullet truss rod cover seals the top of the neck. Two strap buttons secure the strap during gigs, and a Premium Gig Bag protects the instrument between gigs.
