ESI Audiotechnik - planet 22x

The ESI Audiotechnik planet 22x has been designed to meet a growing need in professional studios and installations: a studio-quality audio interface with the flexibility and reliability of a Dante audio network. It is designed for both fixed production environments and mobile or distributed configurations.

At the heart of the planet 22x is high-end 24-bit/96kHz audio conversion, with analogue-to-digital converters boasting a dynamic range of 118dB(A) and digital-to-analogue converters reaching 123dB(A). This level of performance ensures faithful, detailed and stable reproduction, suitable for both demanding recording and precision monitoring.

The two balanced analogue inputs on XLR/TRS combo connectors can be used as line inputs or microphone inputs, thanks to very low-noise professional preamplifiers. Each channel also has a dedicated Hi-Z input, allowing direct connection of instruments such as guitars or basses without the need for an external DI box. 48 V phantom power is available for use with condenser microphones.

On the output side, the planet 22x offers two balanced XLR outputs controlled by a stepless volume potentiometer, guaranteeing precise, reproducible adjustment of the overall level. A high-quality headphone amplifier is also integrated, offering independent control for personal monitoring.

One of the major assets of this interface is its full Dante integration. It can be powered either by the 12 V mains adapter supplied, or directly via the network cable thanks to PoE compatibility, making it much easier to install in environments where access to a mains socket is limited. Compatibility with Dante Virtual Soundcard means it can be used as the main audio interface on Macs and PCs, whether in the studio or for mobile or broadcast production.
