ESI Audiotechnik - Xkey37

With the Xkey 37, ESI Audiotechnik has taken the foundations of the Xkey concept and taken them a step further. The addition of 37 full-size keys, spread over three octaves, offers superior playing comfort for composing, arranging or performing in real time. The extra width makes it possible to tackle more complex parts, extended chords or more developed melodic lines, while retaining the compact ergonomics that are the hallmark of the series.

The keyboard retains its velocity-sensitive action and polyphonic aftertouch. Each key reacts individually to pressure, allowing fine control of sound parameters directly while playing, without the need for external controllers. This approach is particularly interesting with virtual synthesizers, expressive instruments or orchestral libraries, where nuances play a central role.

The anodised aluminium chassis lends rigidity and stability to the whole, despite being extremely thin. The Xkey 37 fits neatly on a desk, in a bag or flight case, and is equally at home in the studio or on the move. Pressure-sensitive touch buttons provide essential functions such as pitch bend, modulation, sustain and octave change, while maintaining a streamlined control surface.

The special feature of this 37-key version is the Xcable adapter supplied. This adds a 5-pin DIN MIDI output as well as 6.35mm jack inputs for sustain and expression pedals. This extension allows the Xkey 37 to be integrated into a more traditional MIDI environment, controlling hardware synthesizers or external modules, while retaining the USB-C connection for software and applications.

Fully class-compliant, the Xkey 37 works without complex installation on macOS, Windows, iOS, iPadOS, Linux or Android. It integrates seamlessly with all DAWs and MIDI applications. The software supplied lets you start creating straight away, whether you're composing, recording, editing or finalising projects, on your computer or tablet.
