Hagstrom - Nekromant 4 Tobacco Sunburst

The Hagstrom Nekromant 4 Tobacco Sunburst is a 4-string electric bass guitar designed for bassists who love bold lines, powerful riffs and tones capable of shifting the mood throughout a track. Its asymmetrical single-cutaway shape and mahogany body give it a particularly distinctive silhouette, whilst the Tobacco Sunburst finish lends a warmer touch to its appearance. The mahogany neck is glued to the body using a mortise-and-tenon joint, with a thickness of 19 mm at the first fret and 20.5 mm at the twelfth. Combined with the Resinator™ fingerboard, a 15" radius and 20 Medium Jumbo frets, this configuration offers the bassist a slim, comfortable neck that allows for easy movement between different positions.

The Nekromant 4’s tonal character is based on two Gehenna soap-bar humbuckers, designed to maintain an expressive response across the entire range. Their character lends itself to energetic playing with heavy riffs, but also to more melodic lines when the bass needs to take centre stage in the arrangement. The 3-band preamp then offers great freedom to shape the sound: the bass, midrange and treble each have a cut/boost control, along with a gain control and a blend control between the two pickups. Switching between active and passive modes offers yet another way to approach the sound, depending on the track and your playing style.

With its 34" (864 mm) scale length, the Nekromant 4 retains a familiar feel for bassists accustomed to standard-scale instruments. The brass Hagstrom Custom CNC bridge features individual roller saddles, which make intonation adjustments easier and contribute to the precise transmission of string vibrations. The Hagstrom tuners, with a 22:1 ratio, ensure accurate tuning. Finally, the H-Expander™ system ensures a stable neck construction and contributes to the instrument’s overall response.
