Hagstrom - Nekromant 4 White

The Hagstrom Nekromant 4 White is a 4-string electric guitar that stands out from basses with more traditional silhouettes. Its asymmetrical single-cutaway shape, finished here in white, gives it a striking visual presence, but it is above all how it plays that will interest bassists. The mahogany neck, joined using a mortise-and-tenon construction, measures 19 mm at the first fret and 20.5 mm at the twelfth, with a Resinator™ fingerboard featuring a 15" radius. The 20 medium-jumbo frets and 34" scale length provide familiar ground for playing both low-end lines and passages that venture further up the range.

Two Gehenna soap-bar humbuckers give the Nekromant 4 a full and expressive tonal foundation. They can accompany a well-controlled fingerstyle playing style, support riffs played with more attack, or bring out more melodic phrases when the bass becomes a key element of the arrangement. The 3-band preamp offers real flexibility: you can boost or cut the bass, midrange and treble, adjust the gain and balance the two pickups using the blend control. Finally, the active/passive mode allows you to change your approach without changing instruments, depending on the tone required for the track.

The construction also contributes to this bass’s character. The brass Hagstrom Custom CNC bridge features an independent roller saddle for each string, with precise intonation adjustment. The 22:1 ratio tuning machines make tuning adjustments easier, whilst the H-Expander™ provides a neck design engineered to remain stable and promote low action. The Nekromant 4 White is therefore ideal for bassists who enjoy building solid grooves, playing heavy riffs or adding depth to melodic lines, with electronics that offer plenty of freedom to shape their own sound.
