J.Leiva - Omeya Evo II Lacquered

The J. Leiva Omeya Evo II Lacquered Cajon was born of a simple idea: to take an already acclaimed model and improve the musician's experience down to the smallest detail. More than just an update, this version rethinks the ergonomics, playing comfort and overall design of the instrument.

As soon as you sit down on it, the differences become apparent. The ergonomic seat and rounded corners make long rehearsals or concerts more pleasant. Movements feel more natural and contact with the instrument more fluid. This quest for comfort doesn't just concern the musician; it also contributes to a more spontaneous relationship with the Cajon, where you concentrate more on the rhythm than on the playing position.

One of the major developments is to be found in the construction of the striking face. The integrated walnut frame and recessed plate system mean that the faceplate can be easily replaced without any special adaptation. This design also creates a sleeker silhouette, with no protruding edges or sharp corners.

Made from 12mm phenolic Russian birch with a 3.2mm Russian birch soundboard, this Cajon develops more sonic presence than the original Omeya, while retaining great finesse of nuance. Its D.T.S. system with six externally adjustable strings completes an instrument designed to respond with ease to the slightest playing intention.
