Jet Guitars - JS 300 Sunburst

The JS 300 Sunburst from Jet Guitars derives its distinctive character from the torrefied poplar used throughout — body, sides, back, neck and fingerboard — a radical luthier’s choice that hardens the wood’s grain, reduces its moisture absorption and gives the sound a crisp attack, with dense sustain and a clear tonal image, without the rich roundness of basswood or the raw brilliance of alder. The result can be heard in the texture of every note: clear with bite, saturated without muddiness.
The roasted Canadian maple neck, with a Modern C profile and a 41.9 mm nut width, glides swiftly under the hand thanks to the fingerboard, also made of roasted maple — with a slightly flattened 241.3 mm radius, ideal for forceful bends. The 22 frets, dual-action truss rod and bone/polymer fibre nut (since 2025) ensure stable geometry and intonation that holds up over the seasons. The tremolo-style vibrato bridge allows for leverage effects without destabilising the tuning, provided the chrome tuning machines are used with care.
On the electronics front, the SSS configuration with ceramic pickups wired to a 5-way selector switch, 1 volume and 2 tone controls, covers the typical Stratocaster tones — from the ‘quack’ of the middle positions to the crystal-clear sound at the neck. The tortoiseshell pickguard and matching chrome hardware define the Sunburst aesthetic of the 300 series.
