The Sunburst finish on the Jet Guitars JS-400 isn’t just a colour, it’s a statement — from the amber centre to the brown edges, on a solid-body roasted poplar body. A roasted Canadian maple neck, a tremolo bridge, and ceramic HSS pickups on a 5-way selector switch: the dry, snappy Strat that resin replicas have never managed to imitate.

LONG DESCRIPTION
The Jet Guitars JS-400 Sunburst occupies that precise niche where the S-shape ceases to be a nostalgic reference and becomes a working tool. The roasted poplar — top, back, sides, body — is not a default choice. Wood heated to high temperatures changes its nature: it dries throughout its mass, not just on the surface, and what you hear on the attack confirms this. Less mud, more bite. The mids come through cleanly.
The torrefied Canadian maple neck, with a Modern C profile, flows into a torrefied maple fingerboard with a radius of 241.3 mm — flat without being a motorway, rounded without trapping the fingers in lower positions. The 41.9 mm nut width, with a bone nut (or polymer fibre depending on the year of manufacture), holds the strings in place without constricting them. The double-action truss rod adjusts the neck action in either direction depending on the season and string tension.
The vibrato tremolo bridge introduces the mobility that hard-tail versions lack — expressive players will find it to their liking, provided they accept the tuning compromise inherent in the system. The ceramic HSS configuration stands out where alnico pickups lose definition at high gain: the ceramic pickups retain their articulation even when overdriven, and the 5-way selector switch provides access to the intermediate single-coil positions. The tortoiseshell pickguard provides a striking visual contrast against the Sunburst finish — a detail that transforms the overall aesthetic of the guitar.
