Jet Guitars JS 450 QTBR Transparent Brown The Jet Guitars JS-450 Transparent Brown makes its mark right from the start: a poplar burl top unlike any other, a torrefied Canadian maple neck with a Modern C profile that responds instantly to the touch, and a ceramic HSS pickup configuration controlled by a 5-way selector switch to cover the spectrum from crystal-clear clean tones to assertive crunch. At this price, guitar makers don’t usually offer such a bargain. Here, they do.

Presentation
The Jet Guitars JS-450 Transparent Brown makes a grand entrance. Its burl poplar top — with its organic, asymmetrical grain that makes every instrument literally unique — is finished in a Transparent Brown shade that allows it to breathe rather than overwhelm it. The roasted poplar body beneath adds a dimension that the scale alone does not reveal: a more articulate response, a better-defined sustain, a material that has been subjected to fire to sing all the better afterwards.
The roasted Canadian maple neck follows the same logic. Roasting stabilises the wood against humidity and dries its grain deep down, resulting in a slightly satiny feel that is immediately recognisable under the fingers. The Modern C profile slips into the hand without ever drawing attention to itself — which is exactly what we want. The rosewood fingerboard, with its 9.5" radius, balances the ease of open chords with the comfort of high positions, whilst the 22 frets provide enough space to ensure you never feel cramped.
On the electronics front, the ceramic HSS configuration speaks for itself: a bridge humbucker for bite and density, two single-coils for clarity and air. The 5-way selector switches between the two worlds with the precision you’d expect from a clean circuit, backed up by 1 volume and 1 tone control. The Wilkinson vibrato does the job without drama — a smooth stroke, a return to tuning that holds. The chrome self-locking tuners round it all off: you tighten the string, it stays put, full stop.
The bone nut — or polymer fibre depending on the model year — and the 1.65" (41.9 mm) round off an instrument that knows exactly what it is: a serious electric guitar, built for the stage as well as the recording studio, at a price that requires no compromise.
