Jet Guitars - JS 480 Violet Gold

The Jet Guitars JS-480 VI G occupies a colour palette all of its own: the violet of the roasted poplar body — a single piece of wood running from the back to the top via the sides — contrasts beautifully with the pearlescent white pickguard and the gold of the hardware, tremolo bridge and gold-plated self-locking tuners. Three materials, three tones, a visual coherence that commands the stage without trying too hard.
Acoustically, the roasted poplar does a discreet yet decisive job here. The heat treatment restructures the wood’s grain, tightens the mid-range frequencies and sharpens the attack — where a standard wooden body might sound a little hollow, the roasted poplar responds with a tonal clarity that the pickups translate directly. The custom-designed HSS Alnico V configuration makes full use of this foundation: the two Alnico V single-coils in the neck and middle positions offer the dynamic openness characteristic of Alnico magnets, whilst the humbucker in the bridge position provides the necessary density for high-gain rhythm playing. The 5-way switch and 1 volume / 1 tone controls provide access to the full spectrum without overloading the signal path.
The Modern C-profile neck, crafted from torrefied Canadian maple, remains stable in the face of climatic variations in concert halls and studios — the torrefied wood absorbs less moisture, which stabilises the truss rod setting over time. The rosewood fingerboard, with a 241.3 mm (9.5") radius over 22 Medium Jumbo frets, provides low action across a 647.7 mm (25.5") scale length. The bone nut and double-action truss rod complete the foundation of an instrument built to last.
