Beneath the pearlescent sheen of the Quilted Transparent Pink finish, the grain of the bird’s-eye maple alone speaks volumes about the high standards of this JT-450. Two Alnico humbuckers, made in Korea, deliver dense harmonics when switched to full-coil mode, then split into single-coil mode via the push-pull switch, revealing a brighter, more biting tone to suit the mood of the track.
The roasted poplar, chosen for the body as well as the sides and back, lends a lively lightness to the whole instrument, whilst the roasted Canadian maple neck, shaped to a Modern C profile, moulds comfortably to the palm along its entire length. A double-action truss rod adjusts the tension over time, and the matching roasted maple fingerboard features twenty-two frets on a generous radius of 241.3 mm, ideal for sweeping bends and barre chords alike. With a string spacing of 41.9 mm at the nut, each string is allowed to vibrate freely without interference, held in place by a bone or polymer fibre nut, depending on the batch, from 2025 onwards. The fixed bridge ensures accuracy, supported by chrome-plated self-locking tuners that lock the tuning in place from the very first turn of the key.
This JT-450 is designed for playing styles where nuance is paramount, from crystal-clear clean tones to distorted riffs, with the push-pull switch opening up a wider sonic landscape at the flick of a switch. A three-position selector switch, combined with volume and tone controls, completes this design, which is tailored for exploring different tones.
